Meta x nextReality.Hamburg e.V. Hackathon

The Challenge

I had the exciting opportunity to participate in the Meta x nextReality.Hamburg e.V. Hackathon, organized as part of the MICs in collaboration with the University of Hamburg and the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences. The challenge provided by Deutsche Telekom focused on creating an enterprise solution in the V-Commerce sector using the Meta Quest 3.

Our Prototype

During the hackathon, our team worked intensively to develop a prototype where the user takes on the role of a salesperson in a Telekom store. In this XR experience, users interact with virtual customers who walk through the store, purchasing virtual goods and exploring different contracts for mobile phones and other products. This concept allows users to assume the role of a salesperson while waiting in the store, providing a realistic insight into the profession.

Takeaways

Working on this prototype was an incredibly enriching experience. It was fascinating to see our ideas take shape and eventually evolve into a functional solution. The teamwork and exchange of ideas with other participants were truly inspiring and further fueled my passion for XR technologies.
